Nothing problematic about the state flag at all

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi lawmakers are advancing a proposal to add firing squad, electrocution and gas chamber as execution methods in case a court blocks the use of lethal injection drugs.

Republican Rep. Andy Gipson says House Bill 638 is a response to lawsuits by “liberal, left-wing radicals.”

Mississippi hasn’t been able to acquire the execution drugs it once used, and it last carried out an execution in 2012.

The Death Penalty Information Center says of the 33 states with the death penalty, only Oklahoma and Utah have firing squad as an option.

Those damned Left-wing Liberal Radicals!  Forcing the state’s hand here really. Oh you want to fight state sanctioned executions by making the required drugs for lethal injection illegal? Fine, we’ll just start gassing, frying, and shooting prisoners in the face. Boom roasted.

Pray for the people on Death Row in Mississippi because it said they haven’t executed someone down there since 2012. 2012!! You know they are itching for a good ole fashioned dose of Southern justice.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they line up prisoners for a firing squad in anticipation of the Senate vote. The Senate heads into chambers (or wherever Senators go), votes to include the new (old) execution methods, and then minutes later rifle shots will be heard from Biloxi to Jackson.

Not the worst idea here either. Like forget about all the people who have been cleared through DNA evidence or wrongly convicted for any other reason. If you’re going to have the death penalty, good or bad, may as well make it as cost effective as possible right?  I’m guessing those lethal injection drugs aren’t cheap (thanks a lot Obamacare) and you also have to pay for the guys who administer the dose (might be called “doctors”). Uhh guess what. Definitely don’t need a medical degree to tell if someone’s dead after a firing squad. Pretty cut and dry there. Very little grey area.

So if you’re going to execute the worst of the worst, in today’s economy, might not be such a crazy idea to only have to spend money on a couple of rounds of ammunition. Already paying the guards anyway. So do you Mississippi. You crazy ass backwards landscape of nightmares.

Do you.
